Anthony Rossiter

Policy Economist - Department of Treasury and Finance

Anthony is an experienced policy economist with eclectic interests encompassing theoretical and applied microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics.  He has more than 10 years’ experience in the public service working for the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Tasmanian and Victorian Departments of Treasury and Finance, covering topics including the economics of housing, developments in service industries, macroeconomic forecasting, economic impact assessments, climate change mitigation policy and modelling, industrial relations and regulatory policy.  Since joining the Centre for Market Design in 2013, Anthony has been involved in implementing pollution permit auctions for the NSW Environment Protection Authority, designing and testing compliance-based biosecurity inspection protocols for the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and assisting Victorian Government agencies to develop pilot programs to evaluate alternative policy interventions.

Anthony holds honours degrees in mathematics and econometrics from The University of Queensland and is currently undertaking doctoral studies in econometrics at Monash University.
